REFLECTION#1

My name is Akeem Amin and this is my 2nd week of my 091 reading class.  It’s a lot different from my other reading class that
I had to drop in the spring due to misunderstanding of the class assignment.  Im thankful that the homework is reading with a partner instead of doing a massive amount of paperwork.   This week I have been on the ball by getting 100% on every online vocabulary test that I’ve taken so far. I know that my vocabulary is my strong suit and I really need to focus on my punctuation, putting sentences together and how they pour out from within. Now my goal this week is to score higher than 90% that’s 5% higher than the required 85%. Next week I plan on bumping that percentage up by at least 3% every week which would help me achieve at least a 3.7 At the end of  this class.

REFLECTION#2

So  far everything is going well, my percentage is still at a higher level than in my last class at this point in time last semester. Now I have to focus on my reading test and how to get at least an 80% on the reading test. I understand the concepts that are thrown out there in the paragraphs but when in testing mode it seem like the answer is right in front of my face but not broad enough for me to see. My goal is to pass every reading test  with 100% just to boost my confidence about the reading assignments. The read along project is going good as well, I like the time that I have to make for the reading assignment it forces me to focus on every detail in the book, especially when you have someone listening to your every word.

REFLECTION#3

Reading book written by John Grisham that's being narrated by a seven year boy name Luke.  Luke is telling a store from his perspective at that time in his life.  He has a lot of secrets  that he hasn't shared with any of his family, to include the fact that he thinks he's in love with the young lady whose family is there for the harvest season to help his family get their cotton harvest picked for the year.  Her name is Talley and she is about 17 years old and this little boy Luke thinks about marrying her when he get older and he just can't stand the fact that other guys like her also this others however are full grown men.  There is so much going on in this book it's really a good book and it's one of John Grisham's latest books.

REFLECTION#4

As me and my reading partner were finishing up a book, we decided to go online to look up some more information on a certain topic and we ran across this important article written by: A.F.P The family of a budding computer programmer have on Saturday launched a campaign to raise awareness about the
health risks of playing online computer games after their son died following a marathon session on his Xbox. A post-mortem revealed that 20-year-old Chris Staniforth -- who was offered a place to study Game Design at Leicester University -- was killed by a pulmonary embolism, which can occur if someone sits in the same position for several hours.

Xbox 360 controller Deep vein thrombosis normally affects passengers on long-haul flights, but medical experts fear youngsters who spend hours glued to their consoles might also be at risk and have urged them to take regular breaks.
Professor Brian Colvin -- an expert on blood-related conditions -- said it was "unhealthy" for youngsters to spend long periods in front of their consoles.

"There's anxiety about obesity and children not doing anything other than looking at computer screens," he told The Sun.
David Staniforth has now launched a campaign to warn other parents of the dangers.
"Games are fun and once you've started playing it's hard to stop.

"Kids all over the country are playing these games for long periods - they don't realise it could kill them," he told The Sun.
A coroner's court in Sheffield was told how the youngster -- who had no underlying medical conditions -- was complaining of a low heart rate before collapsing outside a Jobcentre.
Staniforth's distraught father said his son would spend up to 12 hours playing on his Xbox.
"He got sucked in playing Halo online against people from all over the world."

Online computer games are extremely popular as thousands interact in shared science fiction worlds.
Reports of gamers collapsing after spending 15 hours in front of video games are fairly common throughout Asia.                                         In 2005, a South Korean gamer died after playing online games for three days without taking a break.
Microsoft -- which manufactures the Xbox -- said it "recommend gamers take breaks to exercise as well as make time for other pursuits."
